- The app is free and supported by a Google AdMob banner ad.
- The app does not process payments and is not a bank, accounting firm or tax adviser.
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing or using Business Book ("the app"), published by Junaid Ali Ansari ("we", "us"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. What the app does
Business Book is a digital ledger (khata) for recording amounts given and received with customers, suppliers, banks and staff, and a simple shop till for sales, products, stock, cash and expenses. It can create statements, invoices and reports, send reminders through WhatsApp or SMS on your phone, and back up your data to your own Google Drive.
The app does not move money, process payments, connect to bank accounts, or file taxes. Reminders and payment requests are messages only.
3. Your account
- You need an account to use the app. Sign-in is provided by Google Firebase, with an e-mail address or your Google account. E-mail accounts must be verified before the app opens.
- Keep your password, phone, app PIN and delete password secure. You are responsible for activity under your account and on your device.
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and able to enter into a business agreement.
4. Price and advertising
The app is free to download and use. The Android app shows a banner ad from Google AdMob on the More tab, and ads are served under Google's terms. We do not control the content of individual ads; if you see an ad that seems inappropriate, please tell us. Please do not tap ads on purpose to support the app, as this breaks AdMob's rules. If we ever add paid features, their price will be shown clearly before you pay, and Google Play's terms will apply to the purchase.
5. Your data and backups
- You own the records you enter. They are stored on your phone and, if you turn it on, in your own Google Drive.
- We do not hold a copy of your khata and cannot restore it for you. If your phone is lost, reset, or the app is uninstalled without a backup, your data may be lost permanently.
- You are responsible for keeping backups, using Google Drive backup or the backup file the app can create.
- Deleted items go to the Recycle Bin. Once you empty it, they cannot be recovered.
6. Accuracy of records
The app calculates balances, totals, stock and reports from the entries you make. You are responsible for checking that your entries, amounts and party details are correct. Statements, invoices and reports are a record-keeping aid; they are not audited accounts, legal documents or professional financial advice. Please consult a qualified accountant or tax adviser for official purposes.
7. Messages to your parties
When you send a reminder, statement or invoice, the app prepares the message and opens WhatsApp, SMS or another app on your phone, which sends it. You are responsible for having permission to contact the people you message and for the content you send. Please follow applicable laws on debt collection, privacy and communication.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the app for anything illegal or fraudulent, or to harass or threaten others;
- record information about people without a lawful reason;
- copy, modify, reverse-engineer or resell the app, except where the law allows it;
- interfere with the app, its sign-in service, its ads or other users' accounts, including by generating fake ad clicks.
9. Third-party services
The app relies on Google Firebase (sign-in), Google Drive (optional backup), Google AdMob (ads) and apps on your phone such as WhatsApp and SMS. Their use is subject to those providers' own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their availability or for changes they make.
10. Intellectual property
The app, its name, logo and design belong to Junaid Ali Ansari. These Terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own business. Your records remain yours.
11. Updates and availability
We may update the app to add features, fix problems or meet legal and platform requirements. Some features may change or be removed. We aim to keep the app working, but it is provided without a promise that it will always be available or free of errors.
12. Disclaimer
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of calculations based on your entries, or uninterrupted operation.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost data or business interruption, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, if any. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Ending your use
You may stop using the app at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end access for anyone who seriously breaks these Terms. Data on your phone and in your Google Drive remains yours.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will change the effective date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Disputes will be handled by the competent courts of Pakistan, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
